Has anyone else experienced broken bungee cords on the foot pedals? I have a 17t and I have this on 3 of the 4 pedals I have. It is annoying because the pedal will not be right side up when I go to out my foot on it. Does Hobie sell replacement cords and if so what is the ideal length you need to cut it to? ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Your Hobie Dealer should take care of the broken cord since the PA-17 has a 2 year warranty. If your Hobie Dealer can't come up with the shock cord quickly, any "Board Kiting" shop carries a wide selection of shock cording and finding the right size should be easy. A 2 foot length of shock cord will make several repairs to your pedals. |

Yeah...couple times. Just bought a couple feet of 1/8"shock cord at the big box store. A little tricky getting the cord end under the shaft cap ... or tying the knot ... so it tensions at the right length to get the pedal to return to the "ready" position when you want to start pedaling again. Trial & error. |

On the PA17T - the shock cord can be positioned on either slot on the pedal to orientate the pedal either for regular or social pedaling. I'm guessing that the cord was left in the standard setting and then was pedaled in social mode so the pedal was being flipped over and stretched the shock cord beyond it's stretching ability. Nothing defective about shock cord - but it is pretty easy to break one. |

Thanks for the info everyone. I found 25ft of shock cord on Amazon for like $7. So I will have it in a few days. No need to hassle the dealer on this one. I have been thinking about using plastic or metal crimped clips instead of a knot. Any thoughts there? |

Hi, I had similar issues and after a few times replacing the broken/stretch cord, I thought of a better/simpler way of attaching the cord to the pedals. I dirlled a 4mm hole in the lower side of the pedal and threaded a short length of shock-cord through, looped it around the pedal shaft and tied it off. Seems to last longer and when replacing you don't have to muck around with that silly plastic cap on the top of the shaft. Cheers, Mike. |

put one of those adhesive wheel weights on the bottom of the foot pad. should keep it at the right orientation and will be out of sight. |
