Post subject: | Question regarding how the live well operates on PA12 |
I recently purchased a live well for my pa12. I installed it and it runs (at least I hear the motor run), but I do not see water bubbling in well. Is there suppose to be a dripping fall of water coming off the rim area in order to aerate the water. I've looked on youtube but cannot find a vid on the the system operates exactly. I see setting up and priming and all that but nothing that illustrates how aeration works. Thanks to all. |

Check the seal on the intake tube. If the O-Ring is not tight the tube looses suction there. You might be able to check by placing some water in the tank. Plug the intake and see if water come out at the connection. Does require priming... pedal motion forward. Tube sticking out the bottom of the hull? Intake forward? By dumping water in the tank... it should prime as well. Battery connections reversed could run the pump backwards too. |

My apologies for not posting but I did manually get water into tank. I'm just sure what I'm suppose to see going on in the well when motor running..Is the O ring located up on inside of well? Thanks. |

Remove the intake hose fitting... twists. There is an O-ring that seals to the tank. If the Pump threaded tube is sticking out a little too much it can prevent the O-ring form sealing. |
