Hi all, had my hobie pa14 out yesterday for the first time. What a boat! Def going to take some getting used to and going to take a while to configure it perfectly for me. Biggest surprise was the weight and awkwardness of getting the boat launched and loaded. And i posted on facebook to my friends and family for a name and hobie-wan-kenobie is in the lead currently beating the mighty mo and bad bassImageImageImageImageImage

The PA14 is a big heavy hulk of a kayak. But it does not feel that way on the water. Guessing you have a cart to get it from truck to the wet stuff? I also have an Ascend (H12) and a Pelican (something yellow), i call them my guest kayaks. The H12 is actually not a bad kayak, perfect for beginners because it is so stable, and tracks well, but steers like a cow. But once someone takes a ride in the PA they are ruined.

I don't know that rigging it will ever end. There is always something new to add or change. I did work pre-wiring lights for the interior and a 12v cig socket for behind the seat. Want to be able to hook my charger up to the cig adapter to charge the 12v battery without taking it out of the PA. Also use it to hook fishing lights to for night fishing, or to charge my cell or camera.

Also finished up modifying my cooler, added a 9" H-Rail to the back for my tackle bin and YakAttack gear tracks to both sides...

All I am trying to get at is that it really is an addiction. But one I hope I don't recover from. Plus, I don't think there are any 12 step programs for Hobie kayak fisherman. Keeps posting your rig and your fish! And if it gets to heavy for you, get a trailer!

Had it out on the river today and so happy with the pa14. Super stable, tracked well, and contrary to what i have read it was easy to paddle. The thing really handles like a battle ship on water though
