Looking for a solution on how to store my brand spankin' new PA 14 over night. There's pretty much no way I'm going to be able to manually haul the boat on daily basis, as lake front I have is not beach, but more like sea wall. Any issues if I tie up to pier and just leave it in the water like a regular boat? Obviously I won't 'suspend' from handles, but maybe use mooring whips or bungies bow and aft + spring lines + bumpers to keep baby safe? Other options is to rig up some sort of cantilever boat lift, a-frame hoist, or some other sort of lift solution. Completely open to ideas that I haven't thought of yet! |

If you have a wall then you can build a kayak launch with rollers made out of PVC or polyurethane. Folks even use them to park/load and unload jetskis so they'll surely hold the weight of a kayak. |

One of my neighbors that bought 2 PAs after trying mine has lakefront and a dock on our subdivision lake. He ended up getting a couple of those big foam blocks and making a floating dock that sits lower than his fixed dock and is attached to the side of the fixed dock. When the PAs are not in use, he pulls them up onto PVC mounted to the floating dock and covers them with Hobie covers and a tarp. As far as leaving the PA on the water, you have to consider the composition of the water it's in. Our lake is surrounded by and has large amounts of cypress trees in the water. The cypress seed balls that fall into the lake have sap in them that makes the lake very tea colored. The PAs almost always have a slime line due to that or duckweed that floats on the lake. If you have something in your water that leaves a stain...not cleaning it off regularly would probably result in permanent staining of the hull. I know my neighbor originally had the PAs uncovered on the dock and the cypress gum got embedded in the top decking plastic where he could never get it out. You could also get a few of those floating modular pieces used for floating docks and make a PVC track from your seawall to the water to launch or pull the PA up to shore with. The PA could be stored on shore (covered) and then slide down the PVC when launching. We did something similar to this 2 weeks ago at a rental house in Pine Island Sound, FL. It worked well.
