What are the advantages of the riser for a 2016? I guess, my question is simply...why? (serious question, not trying to be snarky) |

While dual steering gives our users the ability to operate the Pro Angler’s rudder system with either hand, risers put the handles in a more ergonomic location. Especially while using a Vantage CT seat in the high position. |

How high is the riser? I store my Accent Convertible paddle on H-Rail Mighty Mounts with YakAttack Roto-Grip paddle holders, on the outside the the H-Rails. Just a little above and parallel to the H-Rail. I am constantly running the rudder handle into the longer Accent SUP paddle when i turn the rudder to the right. If the riser gives me 2" or more of vertical clearance, that might be enough that it will pass over my paddle, which would be awesome. Otherwise, I have to store the paddle further back on the Roto-Grips which is more cumbersome to reach when I need it. (Of course, if I had reverse, I would need it a whole lot less.) ![]() |

Will these fit the 2016 PA 17? Too many finger pinches if someone else turns the rudder when you have your hand on it. |

Just ordered a set from ACK, along with some maintenance items. 1-2 weeks delivery on these. Hoping they will be tall enough to stear over my paddle. Might also work well for the way I lay my rods handles on top of the rod holders, right in the way of the stearing handle. Hoping to kill two birds with one $35 (yuck) stone. |

I just installed the kit on my PA14 this morning. Worked great to fix my nuisance issue...when I set my rods down while fishing, they always seem to be in the way of the steering handle. Same for the paddle holder that mounts on the outside of the H-Rail. Was it worth $36? Well, it was for me. If your going to add a second steering handle to any PA, I would suggest getting this kit and raise the handles as well. I created my first ever kayak install video. It's a riveting 4 minutes of me putting these on my kayak. https://www.facebook.com/StLouisKayakFishing/videos/321690278164453/ |

I drew up a steering riser this morning for my Hobie PA14 and then 3d printed it. Came out perfect on the first print! http://www.needfulthings.net/tulsaturbo/kayak/riser/hobie_riser_top2.jpg http://www.needfulthings.net/tulsaturbo/kayak/riser/hobie_riser_onhandle.jpg http://www.needfulthings.net/tulsaturbo/kayak/riser/hobie_riser_mounted.jpg 3D file: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1844676 |

Is this compatible with the Hobie Tandem Island? The parts look identical. I lost one steering assembly and screw in transit on a trailer. I have not been able to find a kit for the TI that includes all the parts. |
