Aloha! I just picked up my brand new 2017 PA 14 and have been busily installing all the goodies I bought for it. I opted for a Garmin fish finder that uses a GT20 transducer. I've seen a number of ideas about mounting the unit in the Lowrance ready pocket on the PA which either involve modifying the mounting plate or result in the transducer protruding behind the plate. I've also seem plenty of ideas about using duct seal to do a thru hull mount. I am thinking of trying a combination of the two approaches by removing the mounting bracket from inside of the cover plate and filling the space with duct seal and then pressing the transducer into it and then screwing the plate back on. Kind of like a thru hull mount, but in this case it would be shooting thru the cover. What do you guys think about that idea? |

This post has my Garmin Echomap and GT20-TM install on an Oasis. I am very happy with this setup. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=59131 Peter |
