Post subject:  Hobie PA-14 Cradle Set
I see where these cradles are now sold with carpet already installed, versus the gray foam pieces. Question: I am wanting to put carpet on my cradles (for obvious reasons)..........do I need to remove these gray foam pieces before adding the carpet, or do I simply install (glue) the carpet over the gray foam pieces?

PA 14 cradles are still coming with the foam pads, not carpet. Here's a current photo of the set:

I've seen a few companies online that are selling the cradles with carpet already installed. Regardless, if I wanted to add carpet, should I remove the gray foam pieces or glue the carpet over the gray foam pieces? Which is the preferred option?

My PA 14 is wearing the white fiberglass of the cradles which are in return rubbing on the hull. I think thicker pads would do the trick, if they exist. I am also thinking of gluing carpet or something on top of the original pads. Any thoughts would be great. Some of my friends are using PVC pipe but I recall Hobi only recommended the cradle.
