| Post subject: | Mirage drive 180 maintenance videos? |
I recently bought a used PA 14 with the Mirage 180 drive. I've scoured the net looking for information on how to maintain and adjust the drive but all I can find is info and videos that are old and/or deal with earlier versions. I just can't believe that they aren't out there and I'm just missing them. Even the links I've found on Hobie.com are for the earlier versions and don't deal specifically with the 180. I don't know why it isn't showing up in a YouTube search but I tried it again using the same title but it didn't show. I also went completely through the list of videos on the Hobie channel (I had already subscribed), but again it wasn't there. Perhaps you can answer a related question? The thumb/finger wheel that you loosen to remove the fin seems to have a lot of play in it. On one of my fins it had a lot of play up and down, but the other was snugged up fairly tight. What's right? (This is what got me started looking for a video in the first place, but the one you referenced doesn't say.) Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The adjustment is covered in the manual - here: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic.hobiecat.com%2Fdigital_assets%2FMirageKayakManualMD180.pdf (page 12 has that info) The service video is unlisted due to it being a dealer training style video - it isn't really something we've made for retail, hence why it's not pushed to subscribers... Yes I have an issue with the thumb screw on my Mirage 180. One works fine the other simply screws up and down the shaft without making any adjustments at all. How do I correct that? ~JOE~ |
