Post subject: | PA14 cart optiions |
Hello all, I'm getting a PA 14 around Xmas this year and I'm surprising the wife with a compass. I live up in Tennessee around all these rocky lakes. My question is what cart would be best for me as i do go to the gulf 2-3 times a year and launch off the beach in that white powdery sand. I'm only wanting to get 1 cart for both kayaks and I'm thinking just get the Hobie Kayak Trax "2-30". My question is how easily are those wheels on the trax 2 puncture? Would i have a problem up here around Knoxville on the gravel and rock launches? |

These style tires are tough, and they should perform just fine for you on gravel. The Trax 2-30 is going to be your best bet for soft sand, while still functioning on firmer surfaces as well. |

From experience I recommend the Trax beach wheels. They work the best. They perform well over rocks and gravel just try to avoid really sharp rocks. |

I was hoping to swap out different tires for different terrain. Not sure why Hobie doesn't have that as an option. I bought a used PA14 and it came with the 2-30 wheels and they are too soft for most of my launches on concrete or hard dirt... Unless the tire are super under inflated (I know only 2-4 PSI) and I can't my bike pump on the fitting to inflate. |
