Hello. My rudder steering handle on my 2016 PA 14 is making a noise when I turn it right similar to (for lack of a better analogy) an old spring being stretched out (or an old screen door with a spring opening). But it's only making this noise on the right side (I have steering levers installed on both sides). The left side isn't making this noise. It doesn't matter whether I'm in the water or out. I'm pretty sure the noise is coming from inside the hull underneath the steering handle. Any thoughts on what this noise is? Many thanks! |

There is a spring on the bottom of the metal rudder shaft for each side. Compare the good and bad side to make sure the spring is aligned properly. That might be the cause of the noise. |

Turned out I had too much tension on the rudder cable. Thanks for the input. |
