My 2018 PA 14 skeg will not drop. I have lubricated, taken back to dealer, and lubricated some more. I was told the unusual way it is rigged makes it prone to the problem. Since I live at the coast and have to deal with currents and winds I have found having a skeg is beneficial. Any suggestions out here?

I'm having that problem on a 16 model.

I spoke to a Hobie employee in CA two weeks ago. He was dismissive and blew me off. Actually told me he was busy and could not spend much time talking to me. Good luck

Did you review the other thread on this subject?

Who did you speak to? Did you try your dealer?

I would check the internal lines for possible a obstruction or foam block issue pinching a line. Release the line and pull the rudder down by hand. If you press it up into the hull, will it pop down on its own with the line loose?

Check the area under the black cover. A number of years ago we had a kit to re-route the line due to it cutting into the plastic.

If you can, look at a current model for updated routing.
