Post subject:  PA14 Vantage Seat Slipping

I have owned several PAs and my brand new 2019 PA14 seat is slipping. The right hand adjustment that moves the seat of the Vantage seat up and down is not seating all the way in the grooves. I am comparing to my 2018 PA14 and can see the gap. Just by putting slight pressure on the seat with my hands the seat will drop. I don't want to take it apart in case of voiding the warranty.

Did you call your dealer? What did they say? If no resolution through your dealer, call Hobie directly and ask for guidance.
I hope to take delivery of my boat in a week or so, so will be interested in seeing how you fair with this issue.

Just a thought.....Its possible that the spectra line is not would correctly on the round tube.......try unwinding the line and then rewind it, help guide the line so its even on the tube.
The spring should then allow full engagement of the stops and prevent slipping.

My dealer will take care of it, I have already talked to them. I am just curious if there is something simple that might be keeping the handle from seating all the way into the grooves.

Well, I took your advice and found that it was wound back up incorrectly. When my kayak was on display at the last show, someone must have unwound it and wound back up in the wrong direction.

Problem Solved!
