Post subject:  Electric Downrigger on PA 12

Hello,

I am considering getting an electric downrigger for my 2019 PA 12. Due to their size and compactness it seems the Scotty 1099 or Cannon Magnum 5 ST are the best options. If someone has other suggestions I would like to hear them.

I'm also curious how people have mounted electric downriggers here on their PA. I've seen a couple examples from the forum but was hoping for more.

One suggestion I've received is mounting onto a YakAttack Cellblok and then using 2 mighty mounts to attach to the H-Rail. This would give an added benefit of portability for transport and being able to switch location on the kayak. Also gives a location to hide the wires and/or battery.

My only concern would be the cellblok and H-rails beings able to handle that much weight, especially with a downrigger ball on. However, from my limited experience with the H-rails they seem very sturdy. If this would work it seems like a very good suggestion.

I'm curious about other PA owners thoughts....

Thank you.
