the left pedal of my drive unit does not engage when I am in reverse mode. Feels like there is no resistance when pushing the pedal forward. Right pedal appears to operate normally in reverse. Any suggestions on what might be the problem. Drive unit is about 3 yrs old. and had operated flawlessly up until now. |

Sounds odd. The pedals are connected via the idler cable. You should be able to operate the unit with a single pedal, so what exactly is going on? One pedal should not feel as though there is no resistance. Be sure the fins fully rotate into the reverse position? |

that was my thought as well. I removed the pedals from the kayak and observed position of the fins when reverse was engaged and everything appeared normal. Pedal operation also appeared normal. Not sure what will happen when the fins are under a load ie in water operation. Is there any reason the one fin would not completely rotate? MAy try to rig my go pro to get and underwater view. Will let you know what I find. |
