I have a Pro Angler 17 purchased in June 2019, arrived in Alaska in July. I could talk about how cool this behemoth is all day long. But I am having a problem with steering. There are 3 steering station arms and I knew when I saw it this was going to be trouble. Sure enough the rudder now only turns in one direction and watching it yesterday I noticed that the rudder was actually turned all the way around at one point....and wasn't responding to anything. Generally resulting in a terrible boating experience. I assume that I start working on this by removing hatches and trying to follow lines. Looking in the forum I see notes about line and hardware issues. With this model is there anything in particular that I should start with? thanks |

I don't have a lot of direction in terms of working on the issue yourself. Sounds like it could be a warranty issue but also sounds like you're not near a Hobie dealer? If that is not an option email Hobie and ask for a diagram of the rudder lines. Then us your phone to video what they actually look like inside the kayak (you may need to rig up an extension for your phone so you can see all the rudder lines). Maybe Matt will chime in. |
