| Post subject: | travel with rods in hull holders? |
I've got a (year? 2016 or 2017) PA12 and still new to this. I've got a pretty small car (Mini Countryman), but the yak fits up top just fine. Wondering if it's ok to travel with rods in the rod holders built into the hull as long as they are secured down. Figured that would be a good place for them especially if I get a 1 piece rod. thanks |

As long as they are secured, I never had any issues. |

I've towed my PA14 on the kayak trailer with three or four rods and a stick anchor in the holders all over the state of Florida with no issues. I live in Lakeland right the middle of the state, and I've taken the Hobie to St Augustine on the east coast, Branford on the Suwannee River, Homosassa, Weekee Watchee on the west coast, and to Tampa Bay many many times I towed my old PA14 from Lakeland to Marathon in the Keys a couple of times but I only had old beater rods in the holders for those trips just in case, but never had any issues on the six hour drive there either |
