Post subject:  360 Drive Lubrication & Maintenance Help Needed

Hello all, I purchased a 2020 PA 14 360 three weeks ago, or so. I have been out on it five times, all in fresh water (about 35-40 hours). I am developing a little squeak on the left side when peddling. I found the 360 adjustment video on this forum but have not been able to find anything on lubrication points. Can anyone point me in the right direction in regards to lubrication points and what I should be using to lube it? I know Hobie produces its own lubrication. I do not have a Hobie dealer near me and hate to have to order it. I am thinking a water based silicone lubricant would be okay.

Side note, is it funny that I smile every time I typed the word lubrication? LOL sinner.... :D

Thanks for any help.

Not sure if you've seen this. May be the issue

Yup, and thank you for the reply. I watched a video earlier on adjusting the drive. I was going to do the adjustment when I lube it. I did check the drive after reading the info from your link and it may be a bit tight, but not overly so. I am coming from a paddle kayak and have no experience with a peddle drive so I don't really know what is normal or not. I do have to say that I love the PA 14.

Thank you again Swfinatic!

I have the same issue with my PA 14, it is a little annoying. While not a fix, if I dunk the drive in the water (with the leash attached, ofcourse  ) it seems to get rid of the squak for a few hours.

I'll keep an eye on this, let me know if you find a solution!
