Post subject:  PA14 360 drive and leg reach

I just bought a Pro Angler 14 with 360 drive, and in the closest leg position (position 1), I can't extend the pedal past about halfway when sitting completely back in the seat, and so can't get full power (it's like I'm shallow water fluttering all the time). To get the kayak up to full speed, I have to scoot out an inch or two on the seat, which causes lower back pain pretty quickly due to the lack of support.

I'm 5'7" with a 29.5" inch inseam, and in my 2019 Outback I use the position 3 setting for the 180 drive without any problems. Is this issue expected with the new Pro Angler drive? Is there some kind of drive adjustment to move the pedal arms back a couple of inches?

Definitely not right. The 2019 and newer Outbacks are actually really close to having the same distance from the edge of the seat to the center of the Mirage drive as the PA14 360. This distance on the newer Outbacks could actually be a tad further than the PA14's.

Given the replies I'm going to go out and record a video of my next paddle to see what I'm doing incorrectly. Thanks!

Drive pedals should arc aft... could be in backward.

I discovered that if I have the chair fully upright, I can reach the pedals without issue. It's when I put the kickstand down (which I prefer because it feels more like the Outback seating position) that the reach gets to be a bit of a stretch. I can just learn to sit with the chair fully upright though.

Lowering the seat does make a difference. When I have the seat in the raised position on my 2016 PA14 my drive is on 5. When I'm in the low position (mostly fishing offshore) my drive is on 2. For reference I am 6' and have a 35" inseam.
