67” for the Hobie cradles I’ve seen recommended here. I’m waiting on the kayak to ship, but I have a Yakima Easy Rider trailer I put together last night in anticipation.

Their isn’t 67” of spacing on the trailer (top level) to mount these cradles that far apart. I realize the cradles aren’t a Hobie product so support may be limited. I was advised by the local Hobie dealer to use the BigCatch cradles for the PA14, however.

If anyone here has a similar set up can you let me know how far apart both length and width I should mount the cradles. Or if hobie support can chime in I would appreciate any feedback.

How far apart can you set the cradles?

If you are using the upper level, is it possible to use the lower level instead?
The PA-14 is a heavy dog to throw on the upper level.......

Years ago I bought a Hobie Trailex aluminum trailer because it was light weight and the PA-14 was easy to slide off and on the trailer at a ramp.

I have this same exact issue with the 12' 360 PA cradles. I started at 67" and worked my way down to 64.5" to get more contact but it doesn't help. It just doesn't make contact on the sides of the front cradle at all. The rear will cradle can distribute the weight across the middle and sides, but it's not a perfect fit either.

Should I go back to 67" to get further away from the drive port in the front or should it not matter?
