Trying to fix the SKEG deploy on a 2017 Pro Angler. I'm inside the kayak and notice that the rudder deployment only has one pulley to deploy and bring up the rudder. Its located up front and anchored up front. The line runs from the "Rudder" handle through the pulley and then runs the length of the boat. Works fine. The skeg side has two pulleys and won't deploy. First pulley anchored up front just like the Rudder side. However, the line from the "Skeg" handle runs from the first pulley, then to the second pulley located under the seat area, and back toward the front where its anchored. There is a line from the second pulley tied off to the a line that goes to the skeg and bungie. Curious as to first, why there are two pulleys for one deployment and one for the other, and any reason the SKEG won't deploy. Is this rigged wrong? Thanks. Also, are the Rudder and Skegs shipped with them already installed or is that something the shops who receive them do? Thanks. |

This is all installed at the factory. The skeg should only need one line to pull it up. There is a spring to push it down. https://media.hobie.com/item_attachment ... 22z148.pdf |

Thanks for getting back. I guess I'm still wondering why does the Skegg side require two pulleys and the rudder side only one? |

It is likely that the loads on the skeg line are higher. They needed to route the line in a way to avoid the line cutting plastic under loads. |
