Post subject:  Chair support without cords?

Hey
I’ve moved and even before then, it’s been a bit since I’ve used my kayak, I’m not even sure where the seat is at the moment. I was hoping someone may help… it’s embarrassing but things happened and the last time I was out on it I found my “beam” got wide enough that the support cables on the seat (that go from the arm rests to under the seat) rubbed burns /raw skin into my legs after an afternoon. Can I safely/securely support the seat somehow without those cables? I’m not terribly handy and as mentioned, it’s been a while since even looking at it. Any help would be appreciated, I really want to get back at it, it’s been a void the last couple summers…. I’ve wondered idly about loops of wider straps or just propping something (?) under the chair front. If it matters, it was the first year of the 14’ pro angler with the vantage seat.
