Hello Cat Sailors,

I am not sure where to post this so forgive me if I am making a mistake and please point me to where I can post this.

I have this artwork (inherited) that I think might be rare but not what to do with it.

It is a lithograph(?) of “ON THE MARK” by Kipp Soldwedel with both the artists signature as well as Hobie Alter.

I don't want it for myself but it may be a treasure for someone else?

I found very little information about this on the web but I did see that this artwork was shown on the cover of the Hobie Hotline in Jan-Feb 1978.

If anyone has any ideas about its worth or its history I would appreciate any information you may have. I can provide close up images if desired.

Thanks for your help!

HS

Not sure if I am allowed to post images since I just joined this board but maybe this will work:

The cover of the Jan-Feb 1978 Hotline was similar, but was from a different artist (Joni Carter).

This print (not a true lithograph) was one of 980 made in late 1975 and sold via the Hotline. The first ad is here on the back cover: https://media.hobie.com/digital_assets/ ... 975_11.pdf

It sold for $45 (unframed) and $120 framed - about $207 / $552 in today's dollars.

It has limited value due to its limited sentimental market value - there are only a few people that would really want one of these.

Put it on eBay and see what happens!

I appreciate the research and advice.

Just curious, what did this item sell for on EBay?
