How about an update. How many boats? Who's doing well? What's the weather like? |

Over 100 boats. I think Enrique won the 16's - I had to leave to catch a plane before they announced the awards. Conditions were light and very lumpy. There was a huge (10') ground swell that made the wind different at the bottom vs. the top. The racing was entirely secondary to the experience. As Mary Ann Hess put it on Saturday evening, "They ruined a perfectly good party by sending us out to race." Quique and Carla punch out through the surf yesterday: |

Hey Matt, Did anybody get any good pics of the "retro" rigs? I sail a 1981 16 with Tequila Sunrise sails and really enjoy the retro look! |

This is one of the "retro" sails - this pattern pre-dates the Tequila Sunrise by about five years: They also had blue and yellow versions of that pattern for the "retro" sails. Here's a shot of boats on the beach: That's only about half the boats that were there. |

Top three in 16A fleet: 1 Enrique Figueroa / Carla 2 Jeff Petron / Jeremy Petron 3 Greg Thomas / Jessica Brown They only trophied 3 deep in each class and I never saw the results so I'm not sure of the rest of the finishing order but I believe Pat Porter was in 4th overall. |
