I am in terrible trouble.

It all started on the Sunday of the Labour Day Long weekend. We’d been out of town on holidays for a couple of weeks, and were looking forward to our first sail in a month. When we arrived at the Club, Steve invited me for a ride on his 29er. Awesome, can’t wait to go again. That was the start.

Then we jumped on our 1988 H18 and flew back and forth across Lac des Chesnes, and life was good. With temps of 27 degrees C, warm, dry, sunny, winds steady WNW at 12 mph, what else could you ask for?

The trouble started when Alan invited my wife and I for a ride on his Hobie Tiger. Our first ride on this magnificent beast. Clean tramp, tight boat, neutral helm, responsive, and overall, extremely fast. We tacked upriver for about 4 miles, and then I took over the helm and we ran back down river under spin. What control! Everything was where it should be. Yahoo, this is great.

Now my wife is ‘interested’, and something tells me that is a code word. Am I in trouble? Any advice anyone?

Congrats
Sounds like we have a new tiger sail in the area! You buying new or used? I traded up to the tiger from my 18 a year ago and love it. If you need help with set up of the new boat ( she wants one she gets one right) call me. Btw if you do get one the best investment you can make is a good cover and the snu to snuff the spin.

I should have such a problem. "Oh, no! My wife likes sailing cats so much she makes me get the hottest boat out there." My wife won't get anywhere near my 18, much less encourage me to upgrade.

You're breaking my heart.

That would be great to get another Tiger in the area. We got a new one at our club, LDSC, so if you got one that would be four F18's on the river - Sounds like a fleet!
So Hobie18rich, are you the Tiger at Nepean that i have been leaving notes on to come out to race with us?

From a buddy in Australia who runs a 75 foot cat.... I suspect he may be an old fashioned 'typical' Australian....

"This is very serious John. Women's instinctive interests are SHOPPING, CHOCOLATES etc. Ours are CARS, BOATS (& women....).

This sudden interest in Men's Sacred Business is highly suspicious. She needs to be distracted. Buy her some CHOCOLATES, grab the Tiger by the tail and buy the BOAT. Then think of a new name for it .....Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Diversion or similar."
