Ok look at this picture (hope you can view it). I have two questions, one- even though there is not much heel on the boat why do I have so much spray comming off the down wind hull? Two- I had the main sheet hooked into the upper hole in the main sail and I had it hauled in pretty hard there is still a lot of twist in the top of the sail. As this is robbing a lot of horse power from the main what else can I do to flatten out the main. I had about a moderat amount of down haul. |

I noticed one thing, not sure if this is the answer since I don't own or sail a Get, but your traveller appears to be centered. I think if you were travel out a little, would that help? BTW something got messed up in your image coding, Here is the pic ![]() |

I'm guessing here, don't know your boat all that well but the spray is from speed plus i think you probably are right at the point of catching a lifting gust. Looking at the leeward jib telltale pointing up you are falling off a bit or have yet to adjust to the puff. The leeward hull gets pushed down as you accerate=spray. The mast bends in response to the gust, thus letting the main twist off. I have no idea how hard the main is sheeted but we don't have winches on these boats, ya gotta haul down if want the head of the sail to come around. I'm not sure you're doing anything all that wrong here except footin' and drivin'. |
