I have been looking for a device that can hold my tiller for me while i go work on a sail, motor, reefing, etc... I don't need as far as an autotiller but just a simple lock system would work. What are you guys using. Most of the cord systems i have seen are more meant for a wooden tiller handle. |

What do you sail? On my getaway and on my 17 I have life jackets wrapped around the wings and can slide one over my hot stick to hold it for a bit. I would think on a 14 or 16 a simple bungie at an aft pylon would work. |

Throw the tiller out back and use a bungee cord around rear and tiller crossbars. Put a waterproof tag on the bungee saying "Tiller Captivation Device" Doh...Frank you beat me to it! |

Sry bout that, I have a 21Sc. the bungie device. Are you more thinking about locking the rudders full lock to one side or the other? I am wondering if there is a device that i can set to straight and level as well? Found out the world calls them "Tiller Tamers" There is one made by davis that was what i saw on the other boat. I couldn't figure out how i would attach it to my boat. |

You have wings, set your course, lay your hotstick up on top of either wing and bungie it to the wing. Depending on the conditions you will have up to several minutes. |
