I was just down on Vacation in Seattle. I stoped in at Hobie Cat N.W. to get some parts for my 16'. Close to the store is a fenced in area with about 100 cats. It was cool for a hick like me to see so many dif. hobies. I've only seen about ten hobies in my life. I found it sad to see the shape that a lot of the boats were in. Up here a old 16' in bad shape is worth over two grand. Guys up here would give their left nut for any Hobie. I had to look for seven years to get my Hobie. Don't just let your cat die on the beach, Sell it!

:D Hi Burley. Glad you could stop by. The area you described is the Access/Storage area at Sail Sand Point in Seattle. It is on the northshore of Magnuson Park on Lake Washington. There is free public access to Lake Washington at this location. The Access/Storage area is open to the public at a nominal fee. For more information see www.sailsandpoint.org.

We have a very active Hobie Cat fleet locally, well supported by Hobie Cats Northwest, our local dealer that you visited. For more information on this fleet see http://www.div4.hobieclass.com/

As to the cats in the compound, most are privately owned boats. We do have six H-16's in our program at Sail Sand Point, all donated. Local Hobie sailors volunteer to work on them, and upgrade from the best donated parts. We currently have three recently donated H-16's that will integrated into the program.

Stop by again when you are in town. We will be glad to get you out on the water.

I'm jealous of the access you have to such big water. Looks like a ideal set up. I was not trying to tear ya all down with my post. I'll look you up when I'm down this summer.

Burley Burlando: "I was just down on Vacation in Seattle."

I have to admit that I was highly amused that someone would go "down" to Seattle for vacation, until I looked on the web and noticed that Saskatoon's Wed forecast high is -11 degrees while Seattle's is a downright tropical 49. Hang in there Burley...global warming is right around the corner.
