Post subject:  Live Streaming Video Topics

On the Hobie Social Network, we are hosting LIVE video streams starting Thursday, Feb 5, at 6:30 pm (central). The first live broadcast is going to be from Sunjammers in Panama City, FL. Brad will be rigging a Hobie Wave and a demonstration. He will be taking your questions regarding the Wave or any other products you have questions about.

Post questions here that you'd like for him to address.

Also, we are looking for ideas you'd like to see. A LIVE chat with Matt Miller??? Maybe. So post questions and topics and let's see what we can come up with.

We are also attempting to have a LIVE stream from a chase boat run by Jeremy from Surf City at the Havasu and Hobie Reunited Regatta in a couple of weeks. Hopefully we'll have the equipment by then.

Please post suggestions and questions!!!

I asked a few questions before about your site, but never saw a response.

Why doesn't your Hobie Social Network include owners of current Hobie products like Waves, Getaways or Bravos?

How do you find out about fleets, or start one, or revive an inactive one?

How about making it a podcast so we can view it later at our leisure. You could submit to iTunes to get even more visibility.

I'd be happy to get it set up for the wave, brave, and getaway!!! it was mentioned to me when i was starting this that "i should wait". I'm thinking that maybe there was something in the "wave" pipeline that i would conflict with. With that being said, it appears that nothing was ever produced for those boats. Sometimes in life "if you snooze, you loose".

So, look for the wave, bravo, and getaway sites coming out soon!!!

This social network is a product of it's members and the types of information they put on it. If there is something on there that's not working, or could be improved, please let me know.

This network was never built to make a profit. I started this with the sole intention of: Putting some glue into the Hobie Community, raising regatta participation, and inspiring sailors to fix up those broke down boats in their backyard! If this effort brings dealers more money, then SUPER!

But first and foremost I want to be a part of preserving this sport we all love.

The video will stream through www.ustream.tv and will also be recorded. and can be re-aired as well as put on youtube and pod casts. I appreciate everyones input. I'm sure we'll make some mistakes along the way. But if our focus stays on the right path, they aren't mistakes, only wrong turns.

we need to know what if anything people want to see or learn about the wave. We need input on topics to talk about and what gear we need to have on hand to show off.

Some things may need to be pre recorded so let us know fast!

Installing a traveler will be my next project. I know it's been discussed, but seeing the rivet procedure would help.

Maybe showing a Hobie spinnaker in action on the Wave?

Discussion on what does or doesn't stick to the hulls, for repair or re-attaching seat pads, etc...

I would love to see a segment on advanced sail shape, how to get the most out of the boat for different points of sail and wind strength. Of all the adjustment we have access to how many sailors know which adjustment affects sail shape to best improve the boats performance.

I would love to see the jib and chute, upgrade tips, go fast tips, repair tips (especially anything on repairing polyethylene hulls)

Thanks.

Love the new Wave site.

I do not have a boat on the lot with a chute or jib. Let me see what I can find I might be able to get a wave with a chute.

Downside to the plastic hulls is they are virtually impossible to repair once damaged.
