I know that this is in here some where but I tried to search for it and couldn't find it. Does anyone know (duh -I'm sure someone does lol) where to buy these telltails? I hope the picture works, I always get so confused as to how to take the pictures from flickr and put them in here.

Found them

Davis Marine wind-tels part #01260 $25.00 ea.

Anyone tried these? They look like they may perform better than the usual strips of sail cloth tied to the shrouds.

Most 17 sailors use VHS casette tape on the bridles. It's cheap, light, doesn't absorb water, and is super sensitive.

Otherwise, a wind vane at the bridle connection (Telo-Cat or other).

I don't see many people with any wind indicator on the actual shroud. The shrouds aren't really in your normal line of sight.

I use knitting yarn. Really cheap and the red (or orange) are really visible for those quick glances.

i suggest, cassett tape you know the small stuff, for light wind, black beauties on the sails, telo cat on the bridals.

I just bought the set for my Wave. They work very well and you can set them on both bridle wires and tweek them to the angle that you need. I bought them at Westmarine, but your local Hobie dealer can order them for you if they do not stock them.
