Can I use rudders from a Hobie 17 on a 16? I think the answer is yes, but I don't know. |

The entire rudder system? The biggest issue will be the lower casting. There is a difference in the gudgeons and their spacing. I doubt there is room on the transom for the required spacing. |

No, just the rudders. I would be using the 16 assembly and castings. |

You can use them, but the bolt holes are in different locations. I used to have a spare rudder that was drilled for both - my recollection is that the hole for the upper casting is roughly in the same location for both (or at least you can make it work there). |

Ok. Thanks for the replies. I'm looking to buy a pair of EPO's that were used on a 17. I assume I can fill and drill as need be as long as the rudders are the same. |
