I sail in the Gulf of Mexico around the big bend of Florida, just south of Tallahassee (Alligator point), I was wondering on how I could get a wind report for my area and find out what days will be good sailing.

iwindsurf.com

You can check out the wind meters for free. It costs about $100 per year to get the forecasts (and some other stuff). I think you can get a one week free trial. The forecasts are more detailed than national weather and generally more accurate. It may or may not be worth it for cat sailing, for windsurfing it really helps in planning/making the decision whether it's worth it to go. And, if it saves you a couple trips of getting skunked, it can pay for itself in the gas saved (not to mention aggrivation).

Hey SRM

Cool site! They even have wind meters at Seal Beach/Long Beach where I sail!

I bookmarked.
