Hello - I have cateez wheels with 4 orange tires. I have probably had 10 years. I need to replace one of the tires, measured it, and went to look online. I found at wheelez and other sites wheels that were 30, 42, and 49cm. Mine seems to be 37cm. Did I just not measure correctly or do I have a size that has been discontinued? If yes, then I guess I will need to buy either the 30 or 42cm - which would be recommended - go bigger or smaller? I would guess bigger. I do have 2 of the 42" wheels on a cart I use for sunfishes and dingy for my f boat. Thanks |

The older orange (and yellow) Roleez wheels are made of vinyl and have been discontinued. The newer gray wheels are polyurethane. The vinyl wheels stretch over time and also can get out-of-round from heat distortion. You should replace all four wheels or just buy a new Cateez. Just make sure the axle diameter is the same if you replace the wheels. |

I use Cateez wheels for our Hobies and have three sets. I have replaced my old orange Roleez wheels with 4 grey 42 cm wheeleez wheels on my first Cateez.(WZ1-42UC) These are 1" (25 cm) with 176 lbs carrying capacity. I use this set for my Hobie 20 and my son's 14 at regattas and used them at the Round TI regatta last weekend in Alameda, CA. http://www.wheeleez.com/beach-wheel-specs.php I have a newer second Cateez for my Hobie 18 in Santa Cruz that uses only 2 of the 49 cm wheels. I have an older 4 wheel third Cateez that I bought used from Rafi that I have up at Calling Lake Alberta This third set had smaller orange tires that what I had on my first set. I have put the larger older orange tires on this set (which seem to be close to the grey 42 cm) Bottom line, I would go for four 42cm grey tires - Dwight |

I strongly recommend contacting the inventor of the Roleez wheels, Dr. Bill Tuggle, who lives in Virginia Beach, VA. He was a Hobie 16 sailor (1970s) who kept his boat on the beach at the North End of Va Beach and became tired of the issues of dragging his boat to the water and back when going sailing - both the physical energy and the wear on the boat bottoms. (757-461-1122)5711-A Sellger Drive Norfolk, VA 23502-5239 While he has sold the distribution rights to the wheels, he remains very committed and proud of his product (many other uses including military, handicapped wheelchairs, etc.) he will call you back if you can't reach him initially. He loves to discuss the product and is extremely detail oriented and a perfectionist. |
