They're pricey. About 2 1/2 brand new Hobie 16s. |

LOL... I love my clunker... but I wish I had a new rudder assembly.. one of my bars is bent and it scratches the top of the hull with the nut... plus it behaves badly! |

I have the same problem, but it's not the rudder's nut that scratches the hull *wink* |

I have had a machine shop bend a tiller cross bar back for me before. Lasted years and never showed sign of weakness. You might be able to get that fixed also. Or...if you have a spare tiller crossbar, cut the old crossbar to size and replace your old tiller arm. If you have the bent kind (pre 199x?), do both. |

I did it to my 14's tiller arm by laying it on the driveway (padded with an old towel) and putting my weight on it until it was straight. Straight tiller arms go with the rake adjustable rudder castings. Introduced in 1983. |
