I was trying to find out if there was enough wind to go out on my H18, when I found this...

http://catamaran.camzone.com/webcam.php

Its a web cam at the catamaran hotel on mission bay, San Diego. You can request control of the camera with a simple click, and zoom in on flags, the water, other boats. The quality is good enough to see sail numbers or tell if there is enough wind to get a hull up. If I can't trap out I don't like going.

I will be out there today even though the wind report is 10mph at the high, and will make a pass by the hotel around 1:30 pm. Sail number 10505.

Sam-I was out sailing at Sail Bay today on my H-16. Warm and windy! Tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer but less wind. That web-cam at the Catamaran Hotel won't give you a forcast. Only the present conditions. I usually check 3-5 weather sites before I decide to go out sailing - Accu-Weather, Intellicast, Sail Flow........
I hope you have a nice day out there tomorrow.

10505 - I saw you trapping out. There was also a Getaway with a lot of people on it and several kite boarders.
I was trapping out until about 12:30. Once the wind picks up & gets gusty in some areas ( by the MBYC & Paradise Point) and I'm singlehnded, I have more control off the wire and on the boat.
AccuWeather.com
Intellicast.com
SailFlow.com
Weather Underground
San Diego, Ca Aviation Weather Forecast
Weather.com
I have these sites under "Favorites" but I only check about 3 of them before I plan on going out.
Have fun out there tomorrow. It should be a little warmer with less wind.

Tomorrow (10-21-09) is supposed to be warm and windy. The remainder of the week is supposed to be a little warmer with a little less wind.
My wife and I will be out at Sail Bay tomorrow - launching at Santa Clara Pl.
Anyone else going out tomorrow?

I wish, gotta work. I was working in Coronado today was really nice, blowing pretty good. Friday looks like it's going to be warm and windy also. may try to go out then.
Iwindsurf says 9-10 from 2:00-5:00. The winds are a little weird this week, I think a
Santa Ana is trying to blow.
