My getaway has the old 2003 steering system on it,is it worth changing to the new ez loc system and can it be factory fitted with glass rudders instead of plastic? Just like a bit more performance for racing. Tasmanias only getaway sailor. How much would the whole system be with glass rudders? spose i could get a price from steve in sydney? |

To the best of my knowledge, Hobie Cat does not make fiberglass rudders that fit the EZ-Loc system. You're better off keeping the existing rudder system and changing out the blades to EPOs. |

Thanks guys,new blades sound the go.Just gotta work out the cranky cam system,my port rudder pops up when under a bit of pressure or a decent wave hits it,tried everything to fix it according to the manual??what gives???help!  Tasmania's only getaway sailor! |

Tasmania's only getaway sailor! 1) Adjust the lockdown plate (top casting). It might be too far forward - not allowing the cam to fully seat when locked down. You should hear a resounding "snap" when the rudder locks down. 2) Replace the cam. The corners of the indent on the bottom might be worn, allowing it to rotate prematurely. |

yep,lockdown plate is probably too far forwards,got new cam kit not long ago so it should all be good,time to do some fiddling,thank you for your help gentleman very appreciated. Tasmania's only getaway sailor |

Question, could you take a couple of epo rudders from a 16 and mill the dimples in them for the new style getaway? |
