Hello Everyone, I'm new to sailing and I'm thinking about purchasing a '95 Hobie Wave. I'll be looking at the boat tomorrow and making my decision whether or not to buy it. Can yall give me some things that I need to look at while I'm with the boat? This year was fiberglass, not plastic right? so I need to look for soft spots in the glass. What I know about the boat: Has trailer, don't know what kind (reported to be in great shape) has new main sail and jib kit. The seller claims to have raced hobie-cats in years past and seems to have a pretty extensive knowledge of Hobie boats. I met the guy through a mutual friend, so I don't think he is out to screw me.. It looks like this boat has a used average retail price of around $1700. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. thanks -andrew |

Waves have always been rotomolded polyethylene - they never were fiberglass. There's not much you can do to these boats - they are incredibly durable. |

that's great news. The reason I thought they were glass is because the nada boat guide lists waves before 2000 or '99 as fiberglass, and after as plastic. -a |
