Post subject:  NJ- where to launch in the Wildwoods ?

Its been a lot of years since I sailed my cat off the beach in Wildwood Crest. Wife's family is having a big reunion this summer in Wildwood and I'm bringing the H18. Thing is, I have found only one public ramp to launch from on the North end, but its behind a fixed bridge! According to the township, you cannot launch off the beach. Anyone have any leads on where to launch from on the island?

I live in Cape May and I haven't seen Hobies on the beach in Wildwood in many years. You can purchase a beach permit in Cape May for Poverty beach at the municipal building. There is one Hobie that sails there. I tried it one year but that beach has a nasty steep shore break making beach launching difficult. I would call Wildwood Municipal and see if they still issue permits.

Most people visiting for a week launch Hobies in Stone Harbor which is just North of Wildwood at 121st Street. There is a beach with 80 Hobie spots and you can leave your boat in an empty spot. This is a beautiful beach with Porta Potties, parking, and lots of people to sail with.

Thanks Randy, I also just learned of the 122 St beach on a duplicate post over at 'places to sail' section.
Would you happen to know any of the sailors from the area? I did call Stone Harbor borough and got the official details, but am curious to learn more from a cat owner about the do's and dont's on the beach, etc.
