I've read a couple folks trailer their cats on stern first. I need to do that to launch as I'm 99% of the time heading into the wind on takeoff and want to put the sail up before getting in. I tried this once and seems there are 2 issues, one, the rudders hit the rollers first (when picking up off the hard deck) and two, where to attach the winch strap hook? Crossbar squeezes the tramp piece too much.

Also stepping the mast; if you drop it, it lands on your car.

Sounds like too much trouble, just drop it onto your beach wheels and do a 180.

Mast is always up and I tow it in/out with a tractor so no worries there
Beach wheels yes, but looking for that step-saving-tip we all want--to sail 10 min longer and work 10 min less :P
I know some people do this.
