Even with a 60hp outboard strapped to a 300 # boat, I still couldn't right this sucker. I missed the exciting part due to some traffic that I had to dodge.

Are you using a GoPro?

Yep, GoPro. It's some stock music in imovie. I was calling it 70's cat p*rn music to everyone around, but that was met with disgusted sneers. :D

Great/awful video. A reminder to take your mast into the lake or pool and hold it under water and look for bubbles and then seal it if you need to.

I saw a similar situation with a Prindle. After watching the newbies founder for about 30 minutes in high winds and big seas I had a powerboat take me to the wreck. I dove under the tramp, released the halyard and then tied the halyard to a hull. Then we released the shrouds and forestay from the chainplates. The only thing keeping the mast from sinking to the bottom of Seneca Lake was the halyard tied to a hull. We pulled the mast/sail/boom to the surface and laid this mess between the hulls and then towed the whole pile of crap to shore with the help of a powerboat to sort out the mess. Of course it was extremely windy and cold. It took a lot of Jack Daniel's to fight off that chill afterwards.

So how did they ever right this puppy? Mast ditch like the previous poster mentioned?

Of course, the question is (and always seems to be) what works best to seal and how often should you reseal?

Assuming, of course, the minor leaks not the major obvious ones. Like leaks at rivets.

I used some 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4000 UV, medium strength around the plugs on a set of Cat Trax with plastic wheels. It came off fast, like a cat spitting out an ugly hairball. I read instructions too.

How long was the boat capsized before the initial righting attempt?
