I think I may attempt to sail crissy field tomorrow. The only concern I have is parking... how did this work out for last weeks race and anyone have tips for launching in this area? |

The launch and recovery is easy. You may want to check with the parks service to make sure its ok. We had permission to launch from the parks servicelast weekend. |

You might have some difficulties maneuvering amongst the sand eaters... ![]() And don't be offended if you seem to be invisible to the locals on the beach. ![]() ![]() It's worth the view and the beach is an easy flat pull up to the parking lot. Get there early and stake out some space to reload the boat on the trailer. Because they will pack themselves in tight and you'll be locked out. The photo above was on Sunday, the photo below was Friday. Notice the population explosion. But if you want visibility and class exposure, that's the price you pay. In the end be patient and watch for unattended sand eaters. Communicate you path, and ask for their help in keeping clear of their child's head. I only manage one turd strike, but Frank T claimed a count of 3. That's well below Frank's usual. With the sun out that day the little tots were more active and you had to lead them a bit. The rules state an Irony Bonus if you can knock them back into a hole that they dug themselves. Irony Bonus=5 ![]() |

There's some kind of Rock Star / Candy Man status you get when sailing from a public beach like that, especially with kids who swarm the boat when landing. It's charming but I want to blast a horn to get everyone out of the way. |
