My wife bought a new Hobie skippers harness for me on Fathers Day. I used it for the first time today and was wondering if there is a specific way it should be adjusted. I know it should seem straight forward, but anyone who backpacks knows in order to get the proper fit when you throw the pack on your back it is imperative you adust the various straps in a specific sequence and by the proper amount to get the most comfort from your pack which almost any novice would not know. I was just wondering if there is a similar sequence with the harness.

Hmm, I must be making it into something it isn't. I suppose its no more difficult than just yanking away on straps until it feels right.

I find it best to tighten the leg starps a bit first to hold it down low... then tension the heck out of the bar / waist straps to hold it there. Uncomfortable if it slips upwards.

Trial and error. And after you get it just the way you want....don't let anyone else use it.

Thanks,
Also, I was little concerned my wife bought one too large. It is a large and my waist size is 33 - 34. I guess I shouldn't be too concerned. It leaves room for an expanding girth!!

Well... it should pull tight at the hips I think. Otherwise you just slip down and rest on the leg straps... or worse!
