Following MMiller instructions is it a H18SX jib He said : SX Jibs are Mylar / Dacron laminate. The cut would be vertical triangles of cloth. Please could you confirm is its a Hobie 18 Jib Or a Hobie 18 sx? or any other jib..... Also will it be functional to fit it on my H18? I have made a custom forestay with no upper forestay section to so the longer gib will fit... The only truble I can se is that I will have to remove the 3 small battens If i intend to furll it. The cut in not standard Hobie 18, Tiger or SX. Could be a Hobie Cat Europe made Pacific 18 sail maybe? This is not one Hobie Cat USA has built. I suspect it may even be a NON-Hobie Cat made sail. I can't say what this is. I would contact Hobie Cat France and ask them. www.hobie-cat.net |

Do you know the length of the luff, the foot, the leach? These are the factors that will limit the sails use. You said you do not have the upper section of the forestay. Do you have a swivel at the top. If not, you can not roll the jib up because the halyard will wrap and/or the wire will stop the process. The tack of the sail usually has the maker on it. Who made the sail? |

By the way, looking at the sail, it looks really flat. It looks to be flat on the floor. Does the sail have any shape to it? |
