Post subject:  Hobie / Trailer Insurance Levels

Just a quick question (is there ever such a thing 8) ), what levels of insurance do you have on your Hobies and trailers :?: I know there are several different ammounts available (starting at $25k and going up, way up from there  ) and want to get an idea of what other Hobie sailors think is reasonable. I'll be getting a new 16 with a new trailer, probably won't be racing it this season (but, watch out next season :D ), and am a fairly experienced 16 sailor (you know, safe, prudent, all of that good stuff  ). Thanks and see you out on the water in a few weeks :!:

I don't race, but I do have insurence on my H18.

All liability while sailing is covered under my homeowners/renters (depending on if you own or rent...). While trailing my auto covers the boat, trailer, and car. While storing my homeowners/renters covers damage due to weather or other freak things.

The one coverage I am thinking of adding this year is damage to my boat while under sail. I need to see if it is worth it.

I know that some races require a certain amount of coverage and some insurance companies do not cover racing. On Catsailor.com there is a thread discussing insurence for racing.
