Post subject:  Top 10 Hobie Cat Parts
We've taken the time to research the top 10 Hobie Cat parts that sailors are always in need of. These simple items are readily available, easily shipped all over the country (and beyond), and will help to keep you sailing in all situations or venues.

1. Drain Plug with Gasket - This is the standard drain plug for all Hobie Cat boats and kayaks. Always good to have a few of these babies on hand to keep the inside of your boat dry.

2. Mast Pivot Bearing 3-pack - The standard Teflon bearing that fits the Hobie 14, 16 and some older Waves. Don't sail without one (unless you like replacing your mast castings due to excessive wear).

3. Mast Step Link Kit - Keep a spare link kit handy for when you lose or break one. Stepping a Hobie 14/16 mast without one is difficult, if not even dangerous.

4. Hobie 14/16 Clevis Pin Set - The perfect spread of clevis pins for the rigging on your hobie cat. Kit is also available for Hobie 18's.

5. Hobie 14/16 Rudder Cam Kit - The complete replacement for the rudder cam mechanism, also useful as a spare.

6. Rudder Blade - White Nylon - The universal rudder blade for almost all Hobie Cat boats. If you have a broken, cracked, worn, or chafed rudder blade...Really, just get a new one already!

7. Hobie 14/16 Rudder Locking Kit - Rudder not locking into place properly? You might want to check this out.

8. Rudder Stiffening Kit - Features special high density polyurethane washers that will last and last. They make the rudder movements smooth as butter schnapps.

9. "Minibob" Mast Float Kit - Designed by the Hobie Cat team to offer the safety and security of mast head floatation while limiting the resistance (drag) through the air.

10. Hobie Tool - The must have tool for screw pin shackles, nuts, drain plugs, and some screws. Opens bottles too.

Hey John! Nice seeing you on here. I guess you are a Mariner Sails employee now. I need to make a trip to Dallas and pick up a few of those top ten parts.

I have been at Mariner Sails for a little over one year ... It is fun working in the field that is also your hobbie and passion..

Look forward to seeing you in Dallas, the store will blow you away Man..

Yeah, I have been there twice so far, both times when the wife was with me so I didn't spend nearly as much time in there as I wanted. If I come by myself, I may never leave. Is camping allowed in the store?!?!?!? LOL!

Apologies John, but I couldn't help but notice that this post could be better if it included links to the Mariner Sails website. So I looked up all the part numbers and included links to them below. I also added similar parts for the other Hobie models and included links for the great spare parts kits that they have already put together.

For everyone else, No, I don't work for Mariner Sails, but I am currently taking Hobie U there. I guess this is just my way of helping give back... (Hobie U is free) At least til I buy my Getaway then I'm sure I'll be forking over plenty of cash there...! :lol: :lol: :lol:
