Post subject:  wich hobie ??

hi there

i am considering buying a hobiecat catamaran. i have some sailing experience and windsurfing. looking to sail localy in the L.A. / san diego / santa barbara area. mainly sailing alone, but once in a while take a guest (or two ?) with me.

wich one should i go with ?? so many choices... i am lightweight (145lbs)... so what sail and boatsize is the best for me ??

thanks for your input

How do you plan to sail, solo or w/crew. If solo and at 145 lbs - a H14, H14Turbo, Bravo or Wave would be good choices. The H14/H14Turbo are faster than the Bravo & Wave. The Bravo and wave are simpler and more robust with the rotomolded hulls.

I've got a Bravo. The idea was that this would be an intermediate boat for me before I get a Getaway. There's nothing wrong with it as a boat. Very enjoyable, incredibly easy to set up, compact, and easy to move around. It's certainly not for everybody, but I'd take a look at that, if that's not your thing, then move up from there. The Wave would be my choice over the H14, only because I LOVE the durability of the hulls. Speed is fun too though! You can't go wrong with a Hobie.
