I just watched the ACWS Race Day 2 in Plymouth England on YouTube. Pitch poles, capsizes, double capsizes, boats in irons. Massive carnage! The best cat sailors in the world are emulating my typical weekend. ![]() |

So I'm not the only one watching. Those boats are so cool, and fast. I can't wait to see the 72s. |

I am hooked also... I love watching these races... The apologies for the language almost every time they cut to the feeds from the boats crack me up... Dang.. It is almost like those boats have sailors on them ![]() That and the one clip (from Cascais) where they were showing I think ETNZ getting ready for the next race. and uuhhhh. Hey.. When ya gota go.. Ya gota go... ![]() Seriously fun to watch.. and the coverage is excellent... Just need to get a Hobie logo on one of these boats... ![]() |

Yep! I've done that. All except the part where they go 30 mph. |

Holy crap... China team busted up their boat bad today... “Unfortunately the way the boat landed, the wind got under the wing and caused more damage. The boat then flipped over and over going downwind, from stern to bow, which was pretty exciting,” said Will Howden, a crew member on China Team. “A pretty nasty one but everyone's OK and that's the main thing." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKV_a8PAfJw |

GD_NC wrote: Sailing in Helmets I forget which boat but one crew member got whacked in the back of the head with the mainsail during a gybe. Even with a helmet that had to hurt since the mainsail is a hard panel foil. There were equipment failures too.....this race had everything! If one of the boats had sailed away without drain plugs it would have been perfect! ![]() ![]() |
