Would you install these on a hobie cat? or are they only for kayaks? fors i see easy to open more water tight than standard hatch covers againsts hinges getting broken...and not being flat... cork screw like closing mechanism getting broken.... black standing out on white hull.... also any one got the fat bags? do they sort of hang inside the hull without touching the botom? Also what could you fit in them? say? how many beer cans...or clothes or wallet keys digicam with marine cover ... ![]() marine radio, etc etc any experience? what happens if you have some water in the hulls do they keep your stuff dry 100%??? |

They'll go on your Hobie Cat just fine. I believe's theres instruction on the process on the beachcats page. or else on the Hobie Help Support documents page. I haven't really had any problems with mine. They sure are good to eliminate soft spots. But I have an unconscious desire to pitchpole, so I avoid putting beer, water, etc in there. Also because getting out things and opening the hatch is not always safe when you cant beach it. The O-rings work pretty well to seal it. and i dont know what you mean by hinges. I just have a corkscrew one. Sometimes you have to clean the threads quick, but thats easy. My bag has plenty of clearance off of the bottom. I usually just put keys and stuff in there, but no they dont keep things dry for me at least. I put everyhting in ziplocs. Hope this helps. |

I think they are $40 each. Will work on your 18. A little overkill but nice design. Are made to be submerged on a kayak, hopefully they won't be under water long on your boat. Fat bag can hold 4 beers and a little ice. Its hard to get things out of the fat bag and must be filled while hanging in the porthole. I say go for it!! |

Your stuff will not stay dry. At least mine doesn't. But they are great if you need the storage space. |
