The Community Boating Center has recently had three Hobie 16s donated. i am just wondering if there is any racing going on in Buzzards Bay, or if there is any interest to get some going? I have heard froma lot of locals that it used to be huge, I am just wondering where it went, or what happened? Thanks for all your help. |

It did used to be huge - 20 to 25 years ago. Then people got faster-bigger-boat-itis - and bought Nacra 6.0s and other brands. The one-design racing faded away. They also got old. It's never too late to get things going again, though. |

There's an article in the Spring 2011 Hobie Hotline (http://www.w1dm.com/projects/HOTLINE/11 ... 0Cover.pdf) about four fleets that were reactivated in the past year. One of them was my fleet. Check out the article and feel free to post any questions you might have on this forum about starting a fleet. Alternatively, you can send me a private email if you like. |

The racing on Buzzards Bay used to be based out of Mattapoisett and New Bedford. There's still a fairly active fleet on Narragansett Bay. |
