I remember when I was about 10 y.o. , my parents used to rent a beach house in Rincon Puerto Rico ( west coast ), and I remember that every once in a while, a big bunch of Hobie Cats landed on the beach on that area. They usually spent the night in the area, and in the morning when I woke up, there were maybe 15 to 25 Hobie Cats along the beach all parked on the sand with those beautiful colorful sails. It was a thrill for me, and I always said that someday I would learn and have my own Hobie Cat. Now I do. If anybody here was ever in one of those groups of sailors, please post here.

My parents bought one of my first wetsuits at the Hobie Shop on the PCH. in Oceanside, CA in 1980(??) Still have the receipt! Now, I could be making up this next part, but the shop had a couple of Hobie Cats on display, and I was immediately into them. I scored a few rides with my dad's friends. I always stopped in there to get wax.

It wasn't until 1994 until I bought my own 16 fresh out of high school.
