Just saw a hobie 20 spinnaker and pole for sail will it fit on my 21SE. I have always wanted a big front sail however my crew (wife) has put a big no on this she said running a jib and the centerboards plus acting as a bartender was enough for her Former Hobie Admiral Gary |

Without looking it up, I'd say probably not. I have an original aluminum Hobie spinnaker pole if you are ever up this way-Lake Gaston. Most eveyone started using longer poles than the stock one after class racing ended. Mine is an old windsurfing mast attached to the dolphin striker. |

I have a carbon fiber windsurfer mast that I do not use Do they work pretty well any special fittings |

Mine is an old broken, Ampro carbon mast. I made an aluminum block that bolts around the dolphin striker and using a universal windsurfer foot for the attachment. Specse has pictures of it on a old thread in the 21 forum. I made it so long ago that I didn't remember making it, until I asked another 21 sailor friend, and he reminded me. I epoxied a couple of plastic fairleads on top, reinforced the end with glass cloth and epoxy, and bolted a fairlead through that. The bridle lines wrap all the way around the reinforced end and through the tack block on the end of the pole, so the pole really only holds it out to the front. It's about a foot longer than the stock pole, which makes it easier to pull the sail through during a jibe. |
